A SUPERB INITIATIVE: TASTE WEEK FOR CHILDREN IN MONACO | 2024

Did you know every year Monaco offers primary school children in CE1 and CE2 workshops on taste and flavours?

On January 16, the Prince and Princess of Monaco opened the 26th edition of Taste Week at Hôtel Hermitage. And the theme was: Goat Cheese and Jerusalem Artichoke!

This week saw nearly 700 CE1 and CE2 students and 17 chefs, including Michelin Star chefs, participating in Taste Week in primary schools around Monaco.

Top chefs led workshops on taste and flavours at different schools, giving students the opportunity to taste a variety of unique flavors and recipes based on goat cheese and/or Jerusalem artichoke. The event also included cooking classes and a recipe competition.

“Cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes, and cooking. It’s about harnessing imagination, empowerment, and creativity.”
– Guy Fieri –

Taste Week (Semaine du Goût) is run by Goût et Saveurs Association, an association that brings together chefs in Monaco to build good taste and promote the culinary arts and gastronomy to children of the Principality. It introduces the younger generation to new ingredients, unique flavors, and professional cooking techniques.
